Anti-Bullying Display

Our display located above Children's reference. Look for Pooh and Tigger!
Tying in with Blue Bell Elementary's Kick-off of the Olweus Bullying Prevention program, we're featuring a book display on Anti-Bullying at the Blue Bell Library. "Be a Buddy, Not a Bully" will feature picture books, chapter books, and parenting books on the topic of bullying. Currently, the display is located above the Children's Reference section, facing the picture books. We also now have a resource list available in our Book List Binder (located above the Parenting Shelf).

Our display case featuring covers of books you can request
and find at WVPL as well as info on BBElem's Kick-off.

Be sure to take a look at our Display Case to see some photos and quotes from Blue Bell Elementary's Kick-off of the Olweus Program. You'll learn about what is happening in the classroom and see some resources of interest.

"Grab and Go" Bags

Blue Bell has their Grab and Go books
near the seating in the picture book area.
Are you short on time, but have a child who REALLY wants some books? "Grab" this bag of books and "Go" on your merry way!

Grab and Go is a small section in Blue Bell's and Ambler's Children's area where we have bags of picture books on a related theme or topic. Many of the bags are on popular topics such as trains, trucks, cars, animals, princesses, dinosaurs, princesses (wait...), and more! Be sure to look at the bags often as the books in the bags often change. You may find that the dinosaur bag holds books with stories about t-rex, or the princess bag is themed with fairy tales. You just never know!

Ambler's has their Grab and Go books
on the other side of the main entrance.

Book Video Fun

Looking for some Friday fun? How about these videos with our favorite item: BOOKS!

First up, the video that has certainly gone viral by this point is "The Joy of Books" which is a fantastic, stop-animated short featuring a book store and lively books.

Don't forget to watch the original inspiration for "The Joy of Books" which was "Organizing the Bookcase." (Both are magical).

Second, is one from our Twitter Feed (@ShelfAwareness) featuring a Rube Goldberg page turner (don't know what a Rube Goldberg is? Merriam-Webster's simple definition)

Enjoy!
